We want to enable individuals to make a difference in the world. Our purpose is to support those who deliver meaningful impact in the provision of water, climate action and sustainable land stewardship.
The Chacegrove Family Foundation is a family-funded charity with the aim of supporting organisations and charities in the delivery of projects that meet one or more of three main aims: combating climate change; providing and managing water; and the sustainable use of land.
The foundation was created by Jonson Cox, inspired by a long career in water and environmental industries and the work and values of the then Dartington Trust, where he had grown up and developed an interest in the environment. The foundation takes its name from the Chacegrove Wood in South Devon.
Since 2021, Chacegrove has funded several standalone independent projects as well as projects in collaboration with existing charities. Chacegrove provides project-specific funding to established organisations and charities for projects that align with the funding criteria.
Chacegrove is governed by four trustees and the Secretary to the Foundation who meet quarterly and consider applications for funding twice a year. The foundation disburses between £35,000 and £50,000 each year, through up to six grants per year.
